"Friends and Other Enemies" by Suzan Lovett |
As was true of the first three series, the fourth ends with a cliffhanger: a misunderstanding between old friends endangers everything as Federation forces attack and almost everyone is shot. Although Vere Lorrimer, producer of the fourth series, says that there is no reason to suppose that everyone is dead, there seems to be no doubt that the intent was to kill off at least one of the characters. With all the possibilities available in science fiction, however, killing popular characters may prove impracticable.
"Blake's 7," after all, is known for cliffhangers. At the end of each series, the characters are left facing almost certain destruction. Who will survive this latest peril is a question that can only be answered in the future: in a film, a new series, or a book.
Meanwhile, many people believe that somewhere out there the Liberator still cruises the. galaxy with a crew of rebels and criminals named Blake, Avon, Cally, Vila...
